The Mortal remains of former President Pranab Mukherjee have been laid in state at his official residence 10 Rajaji Marg. The mortal remains of Mr Mukherjee were taken to his residence from Army Hospital this morning.
President Ram Nath Kovind, Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Union Ministers, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba, Army Chief General Manoj Mukund Naravane, Navy Chief Admiral Karambir Singh and Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Rakesh Kumar Singh Bhadauria paid floral tributes to Mr Mukherjee at his residence.
BJP president J P Nadda, Senior Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, leader of Congress party in Lok Sabha Adhir Ranjan Choudhary, CPI leader D Raja and leaders from different political parties paid tributes to Mr Mukherjee.
General public are now paying tributes. Due to requirement of following social distancing norms and other covid related protocols the mortal remains of the former President will proceed in hearse van instead of normal gun carriage.
