Gurugram (Haryana) [India], Feb 2 : “People started recognizing Prime Minister Narendra Modi after Godhra incident,” Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav claimed on Saturday.
The former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister, while addressing a public meeting here, added that he had “no personal issues with the Prime Minister.”
The Godhra incident that Tejashwi referred to was burning of two coaches of Sabarmati Express on February 27, 2002, in which 59 kar sevaks returning from Ayodhya were burnt alive. The incident followed by riots in Gujarat. Modi was the Chief Minister of the state at that time.
In his speech, Tejashwi accused the BJP of trying to instigate violence and create disturbance in the country.
He accused the BJP of invoking the Ram temple issue to seek votes in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
“Bhagwan Ram Sita maiya swarg me batein kar rahe hai, tabhi Bhagwan Ram ko hichki ati hai aur Sita maiya puchhti hai, kon yad kar raha hai, toh Ram ji kehte hain ke chunav aa raha hai toh BJP yaad kar rhi hai (Lord Rama and Goddesss Sita are having a conversation in the Heaven and suddenly Lord Rama gets hiccups. Goddess Sita asks him who is remembering him and he replies that BJP is remembering him as elections are nearing),” Yadav said.
