PM Modi to release commemorative coins at Sikkim’s 50th statehood celebrations

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will participate in the “Sikkim@50: Where Progress meets purpose and nature nurtures growth ” event at 11.00 am in Gangtok, Sikkim. Our Correspondent reports that the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone of various projects at Palzor Stadium. It may be noted that Sikkim is celebrating its 50 years of statehood with a year-long programme under the theme -Sunaulo, Samriddha and Samarth Sikkim, celebrating the essence of Sikkim’s cultural richness, tradition, natural splendour and its history.

The Prime Minister will also inaugurate a new 500-bedded District hospital worth over 750 crore rupees at Namchi district and a ropeway at Pelling in Gyalshing district.

Mr. Modi will also release the Commemorative coin, souvenir coin and stamp of 50 years of Statehood of Sikkim. In the evening, the State government will hold a drone show to mark the visit of the Prime Minister.
