Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that BJP-led Government at the Centre and State is committed for building strong and unified India and moving fast towards development on the path shown by Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
He was speaking at an election rally in Satara today, where the only Lok Sabha By-Poll in Maharashtra is also being conducted along with State Assembly elections.
In Satara, the Prime Minister spoke on Article 370, Maratha Reservation, beneficial schemes for farmers, steps taken for the betterment of sugarcane producers and various development projects undertaken by the BJP-Shivsena combine in the state during the last term. Mr. Modi will address poll rally in Pune later in the evening.
Lok Sabha by-elections were necessitated in Satara because of the resignation of seating Member Udayanraje Bhosale. Mr. Bhosale left NCP and joined BJP. Now, he is contesting as the BJP candidate. His brother Shivendraraje is BJP candidate for Assembly election.
