Prime Minister Narendra Modi today remembered former Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan on his barsi (death anniversary) describing him as a champion of the poor and Dalits. In his message on the occasion, Mr Modi said, it is an emotional day for him as he is missing Ram Vilas Paswan as a friend. He added that he is also sensing that Indian politics has suffered due to the demise of the veteran leader. The Prime Minister said, those who want to understand politics and wishes to serve the country through it must take lessons from the life of Ram Vilas Paswan. He said, even after reaching the top, the former Union Minister was always available and cordial with his fellow party workers.
Sharing the message of the Prime Minister on his Twitter handle, Ram Vilas Paswan’s son and MP Chirag Paswan thanked him for his affection towards his father.
The Lok Janshakti Party in Bihar will today observe the barsi, the event marking the first death anniversary of its founder and veteran leader.
