PM Modi, Italian PM hold Virtual Bilateral Summit

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Italian counterpart Giuseppe Conte are currently holding a Virtual Bilateral Summit.

In his initial remarks, Prime Minister Modi said, COVID-19 pandemic will be a watershed moment in history, just like World War II. He said, the world will have to adapt to the post-Corona scenario and be ready for the opportunities and challenges arising out of it.

Mr Modi expressed his condolences on behalf of people in India, for the losses due to COVID19 in Italy. He said, when other countries were still getting to know about Coronavirus and trying to understand it, Italy was suffering from it. He said, Italy swiftly and successfully brought the situation under control.

During the Summit, the two leaders will comprehensively review the broad framework of the bilateral relationship and exchange views on major regional and global issues of mutual concern. Several Government-to-Government and Private Sector agreements or MoUs will be concluded on the occasion.
