Dr. Carol Christine Fair is an American political analyst,She is currently an associate professor in the Security Studies Program within the Edmund A. Walsh School of Foreign Service at Georgetown University. Her work is primarily focused on counter-terrorism and South Asian topics. Besides English, she is fluent in Hindi and Punjabi.
Dr Christine has spent more than a decade in Pakistan studying the minds of the Lashkar-e-Tayiba, the most lethal of the terrorist groups operating in and from Pakistan.
It is a well-known fact that Pakistan has been supporting militancy in India in order to snatch Kashmir from India.
Pakistan’s decision to rely on LeT and other groups apparently arises from its insecurity about is rivalry with India on many fronts.
Her research reports say that the terrorist groups fight insurgency against the state within Pakistan and indulge in terrorism outside it. In a nutshell, they kill kafirs or non-believers.
Besides indulging in terrorism, Lashkar-e-Tayiba literature puts forth its intentions to Islamise Pakistan and kill non-believers of Islam outside Pakistan such as Hindus in India and Christians in other countries. She says that the American Library of Congress buys LeT materials.
Dr. Christine says thatif peace is established between India and Pakistan, the army will lose its relevance. Therefore, India should not trust peace overtures from any Pakistani prime minister that assumes office. He or she is totally irrelevant. She says India is not keen to go for an all out war with Pakistan because it cannot be winnable. India can only focus on economic development and hope that Pakistan implodes with terrorism and destroys itself.
