A website belonging to the Pakistan Ministry of Foreign Affairs was reportedly inaccessible, according to officials.
While the website was accessible from within Pakistan, it was inaccessible to people from countries such as Australia, Britain and Saudi Arabia.
The spokesperson said that the IT team has been working on it to set it right.
Sources in the ministry suspect it might be the handiwork of Indian hackers.
Since 1998, there have been incidents of cross-border hacking of websites of important and strategic institutions. That was the year when India, with Atal Bihari Vajpayee as prime minister, conducted nuclear tests at Pokhran. Pakistan, with Nawaz Sharif as prime minister, too conducted nuclear tests.
