The event witnessed a world record 559 OnePlus community members coming together to unbox the device.
After launching its latest flagship smartphone OnePlus 6T, Chinese device maker OnePlus has set a new Guinness World Record title for the most number of people unboxing the device simultaneously.
The event, which took place at Richardson and Cruddas in Mumbai on November 1, witnessed 559 OnePlus community members coming together to unbox the device. The record has been confirmed by GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS, which is the judge authority on maintaining world records.
“At OnePlus, we are constantly working on creating a great user experience which goes beyond the device itself and the recent GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS attempt was one such endeavour. Unboxing a new phone is a very special occasion and for our latest flagship OnePlus 6T, it was truly a heartwarming moment to see hundreds of community members coming together to create history,” Vikas Agarwal, General Manager, OnePlus India said at the event.
“I was amazed with the kind of energy and enthusiasm that was exhibited by the OnePlus community and breaking of this record is a reinforcement of the brand’s popularity in India. This is another meaningful benchmark OnePlus has set for the industry, together with its loyal community,” said Rishi Nath, GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS Adjudicator.
The event hosted by the Shenzen-based device maker was also attended by Bani J, fitness model and actress and Brodha V, Indian lyricist, rap artist and music producer along with the community members.
