ow that OnePlus has already launched the OnePlus 7T series, it’s done for this year. But that doesn’t mean the company is settling down for the while. With an earlier than usual launch date for the OnePlus 7T series, it could only be a matter of few months in early 2020 when OnePlus releases the OnePlus 8 series. And thanks to nosy tipsters, we already had a chance to see the OnePlus 8 renders a few weeks ago. However, it’s now time for the Pro version of the OnePlus 8 and the renders reveal the design in its full glory.
The latest bunch of renders have been revealed by OnLeaks along with 91Mobiles and for what it seems, the OnePlus 8 Pro will take a step back with regards to the design. Gone is the pop-up camera from the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7T series, and in its place will come the good-old hole-punch cutout. Yes, the display embraces the hole punch cutout and that means we will have to bid goodbye to the notch-less display.
However, rest of the front seems identical to the OnePlus 7T Pro, with curved edges on the display still retained. At the back, a couple of changes have been made to the design as well, with the vertical triple camera setup beings lightly bigger and new TOF sensor sitting on the side along with the autofocus sensors.
Nothing has been revealed about the specifications yet but you can at least expect the 90Hz display to make an appearance given that OnePlus has already confirmed 90Hz screens for all phones. However, given that Asus recently went ahead with 120Hz display on its ROG Phone 2, the OnePlus 8 Pro could come with a smoother 120Hz display. And surely, expect OnePlus to use the upcoming Snapdragon 865 chipset as well as the Warp Charge 30T (unless there’s a faster-charging technology).
Therefore, we have both the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro renders months before they will be launched. And as with the OnePlus 7T Pro, the OnePlus 8 Pro won’t get a much bigger upgrade over the OnePlus 7T Pro, save for the camera and the chipset. However, it’s the OnePlus 8 that will come across as another massive upgrade over the OnePlus 7T, with its curved edge display and a design similar to the OnePlus 7T Pro.
