Odisha crosses six lakh mark in covid-19 vaccination

In Odisha, covid-19 vaccination has crossed the 6 lakh mark. About six lakh thirteen thousand vaccine doses have been administered so far. Out of these, more than 4.5 lakh vaccines shots have been given to health care and frontline workers. According to reports that with 89.1 per cent first dose vaccine coverage, Odisha comes second among the seven states that have crossed 80 per cent vaccination target.

On the other hand, the state government yesterday released a list of 183 private hospitals where vaccination of eligible citizens will be carried out simultaneously with the government health facilities in the upcoming phase of vaccination set to begin from the day after tomorrow.

Meanwhile, the state chief secretary, in a high level meeting in capital Bhubaneswar yesterday, has directed all the stakeholders to step up covid-19 test level across the districts with focus on screening and RT-PCR tests of suspected passengers coming from out of the state and from foreign countries, while still widening and deepening the reach of covid-19 protocols that include covid-appropriate behaviour and home quarantine.
