With an aim to optimally utilise resources by mobilising scrap materials, North Western Railways has earned 140.52 crore rupees till November of the current financial year.
This is 12 per cent more than the previous year. North Western Railway was given a target of earning 192 crore rupees from scrap disposal this financial year. Removal of scrap has increased the safety and cleanliness of railway premises. Special efforts are being made to make railway stations, railway sections, depots, workshops, sheds, and railway premises junk free under the Stores Department’s Mission Zero Scrap campaign for scrap disposal.
