The Government of Nepal on Sunday, September 5, 2021, warned its citizens against carrying out any disgraceful and reprehensible activities. It objected to such acts that may tarnish and affect the friendly relationship with neighboring countries. This comes after some anti-India protests had gone berserk in the Himalayan Nation.
Nepal Government to take action
In a notice released by the Nepal Home Ministry, the Government said that the Home Ministry will take action to control such activities targeted against the friendly neighboring nation and will punish those who involve themselves in such unlawful activities.
Adding further, the notice read, “We have a long tradition of solving the dispute with the neighboring nation through diplomatic channels and mutual dialogue. In the future as well, diplomatic initiative and mutual discourse will be utilized while solving any dispute.”
The Ministry iterated that in the past few days, it caught attention about the chanting of slogans, holding of demonstrations and protests, and burning effigies to tarnish the image of the neighboring friendly nation’s Prime Minister. The notice did not specifically mention anyone by name.
Expressing great objection towards such reprehensible and disgraceful actions, the Government of Nepal said that it wishes to have a friendly relationship with all friendly nations and is determined not to let any activities that may harm the national interest. It requested its citizens not to carry out any action that may hurt the dignity and respect of the friendly nations.
