In Bihar, a national postal exhibition BIPEX-2024 will start today in Gyan Bhawan Auditorium in Patna. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar will inaugurate the three-day exhibition which is based on the rich history of the postal culture of Bihar.
Chief Post Master General of Bihar, Anil Kumar said around 20 thousand postal stamps will be exhibited in the BIPEX2024 by 153 postal stamp collectors and philatelists from different parts of the country.
Mr. Kumar said the main attraction at the event would be World’s first postal stamp which was released 250 years ago in Patna as Azimabad Ekanni and Doanni in the form of copper coin.
Two books Glory of Bihar and Postal Heritage of Bihar will also be released. Mr. Kumar said the function will be a paradise for philatelists and great repository of knowledge for the young generation.
He said several competitions will be organized for school students during the event besides the release of important postal covers.
