Mumbai: The Maharashtra Housing Area Development Authority(MHADA) has decided to only include those buildings which have been registered under the Real Estate Regulatory Authority (RERA) and have obtained Occupany Certificates (OC). The new decision will be applicable for new MHADA lottery schemes 2018 houses allotment. Ravindra Waikar, the Minister of State for Housing in an release issued on Wednesday confirmed about the new decision on implementation of houses.
“The demand was made by me and has been approved by MHADA authority. The idea will help eradicate the delay in the process of possession of flats henceforth. Since all requisite permissions will be in place, eventually the possession of flats will be not delayed,” Waikar stated in the release. MLC Nirjan Davkhare in an state assembly session earlier raised question over delay in possession of flats to MHADA lottery winners.
He stated that even after a year, MHADA lottery winners are given possession of flats and due to it many face inconvenience. Taking cognisance of the issue raised by MLC Davkhare, Minister Waikar called a meeting by MHADA officials in June 2018. In the meeting the officials ruled the reason as many buildings do not have proper OCs due to which the possession of flats are delayed. Hence, the minister demanded to include only those buildings which have all certificates and approvals in place during the lottery.
