In view of the suspension of all bus and train services in Mumbai, a Hub and Spoke action by the MSRTC and BEST to operate special services has been prepared. This service is primarily for people performing essential services like banks, MCGM, police etc from suburban railway stations. MSRTC will operate at a frequency of 5 mins from railway stations to a changeover point in Mumbai. Borivali Station (East), Thane (Khopat) and Vashi are designated changeover points for Western and Harbour Lines. BEST will operate different routes from the changeover point within Mumbai. This entire plan is to cater to only the people under the essential service category. BEST will have ready three buses at any given point of time to meet any exigencies.
