Mumbai: Harbour line services affected, commuters may face delay during peak hours

Commuters travelling in local trains on the harbour railway on Tuesday evening during peak hours might have to face delays.

This is because an engine of goods train failed at Kurla railway station on the harbour railway platform. The failure occurred at 2.45 pm and was rectified and engine was removed at 3.15 pm.

Owing to this failure both railway lines heading to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus(CSMT) and Panvel were shut.

“Engine of a goods train failed near Kurla railway station. Local train services heading towards Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus(CSMT) and Panvel both were impacted. Services have resumed now,” said a senior central railway official.

Train services on the harbour railway are presently operating with delays upto twenty minutes. This is likely to continue in the evening peak hours.
