Massive participation marks Yoga Day countdown in Telangana

Thousands of Yoga Sadhakas and students participated in a 24-hour countdown event ahead of International Yoga Day in Hyderabad this morning. The event organised by the Union Coal Mines and Steel Ministries was attended by thousands of enthusiasts by performed Yoga. Speaking on the occasion, Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma said people are united in celebrating Yoga, a timeless gift to the World by India. He said Yoga is a way of life. Union Minister for Coal and Mines, G. Kishan Reddy described Yoga said that five lakh people will take part in the Yoga event tomorrow in Visakhapatnam. Stressing that everyone should make yoga a part of their daily routine, the Minister said it will keep up not only individual wellbeing but also the society. Union Minister of State for Steel Bhupathiraju Shreenivasa Varma also took part in the event. Former Vice President M Venkaiah Naidu called upon youth to take up Yoga as a mission and passion for the nation.
