Maharashtra has taken the first position in vaccination in the country. State Government is also focusing on Tracking, Testing and Treatment to control the pandemic situation in the state. Health Minister Rajesh Tope has instructed administration to increase institutional quarantine.
AIR correspondent reports as per ministry of health and family welfare’s data, the state has given more than 38 lakh doses to the citizens till morning. As per state government’s, 8.68 lakh health workers, 5.67 lakh frontline workers, 2.8 lakh persons with comorbidities are vaccinated. Sr. citizens are giving a huge response to Covid vaccination drive. Till Wednesday, around 14.3 lakh sr. citizens received the 1st dose of covid vaccine in various hospitals in the state.
In Maharashtra, yesterday a record number of patients tested positive for Coronavirus. According to the health department, the state reported 25,833 new covid-19 cases yesterday. The previous highest single-day toll for Maharashtra was 24,886 cases, on September 11 last year. But the positive thing is that the fatality rate is low as compared to last year. Yesterday, 58 patients succumbed to the infection. In September 2020, daily around 400 fatalities were recorded. Currently the state has 1.66 lakh active patients. 8.13 lakh people are in home quarantine and more than 7 thousand are in institutional quarantine.
