Maharashtra Cabinet expanded with induction of 13 new ministers

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis expanded his Cabinet today. Thirteen new ministers were inducted.

Governor C Vidyasagar Rao administered the oath of office and secrecy to the Ministers at Raj Bhavan in Mumbai. Senior Congress leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, who recently joined BJP, and Jaydatt Kshirsagar who left NCP a few months back to join Shivsena were inducted as Cabinet Ministers.

BJP leaders, including Ashish Shelar, Sanjay Kute, Suresh Khade, Anil Bonde, Ashok Uike, Yogesh Sagar and Shivsena’s Tanaji Sawant were also inducted as Cabinet Ministers.

Avinash Mahatekar of Republic Party Athwale fraction, Bala Bhegade and Dr Parinay Fuke of BJP and Atul Save of Shiv Sena were given berth as state Cabinet Ministers.

Six Ministers, including Housing Minister Prakash Mehta, resigned from the Cabinet. An official in the Chief Minister’s Office said Mr Fadnavis has accepted the resignations.
