By Deepika : Sringeri Vidya Bharati Foundation (SVBF) Canada, held two days of Maha Rudra Yajna and Shardamba Laksha Kunkumaraarchana on 11th and 12th August (auspicious Shravana month). 121 priests from Canada, USA and India came together to chant mantras and slokas.

Maha Rudram is one of the highest form of worship of Lord(Bhagwan) Shiva. Sri Rudram hymn is an invocation of Bhagwan Shiva consisting of two parts,namely: Namakam and Chamakam. Namakam sings the glory of Bhagwan Shiva and Chamakam requests the Bhagwan to grant materialistic and spiritual grace to elevate the devotee and remove suffering from the whole universe. In Maharudram Sri Rudram is chanted a total of 1331 times by learned Ritwiks during the two days.

It was officiated by priest Vidwan Ramakrishna Bhat Canda.
