Light to moderate rain is expected in many parts of the country today. As per India Meteorological Department, Jammu, Chandigarh, Mussoorie, Kullu, Shimla, Haridwar and Nainital may witness light to moderate rain today. Meanwhile, light snowfall may be recorded in places like Baramula, Srinagar, Badrinath and Leh.
Earlier yesterday, the weather department had forecast rain for many parts of north India including National Capital Region with thundershower and lightning.
According to IMD, the northern plains witnessed rain due to the western disturbances. The heightened wind speed due to the western disturbances has helped subside air pollution in many regions.
In Delhi, a light spell of rain last evening improved the air quality to unhealthy to very unhealthy category today from ‘severe’ category recorded yesterday. According to IMD, the temperature in national capital could fall below the 10-degree mark by November 18 due to the rain.
