India has successfully vaccinated nearly 1 crore healthcare workers and frontline workers as of 35th day of largest nationwide vaccination drive.
As per the data released by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfares, India has vaccinated 1,01,88,007 healthcare workers and frontline workers till 19th Feb, 21. The vaccination drive in the country had begun on 16 January 2021.
India’s vaccination coverage ranks third in the world, after the USA and the UK.
India reported 13,193 new cases of coronavirus in the last 24 hours on Friday. The toll rose to 1,56,111, with 97 new deaths, while the number of active cases in the country stood at 1,39,542.
The healthcare and frontline workers received 98,46,523 vaccine doses, through 2,10,809 sessions till yesterday. India began giving the second dose of Covid-19 vaccine on 13 February 2021.
By the end of the 34th nationwide vaccination programme, a total of 3,17,190 COVID-19 vaccine doses were given. Out of which, 2,21,425 beneficiaries were vaccinated for 1st dose and 95,765 HCWs received 2nd dose of vaccine as per the provisional report.
