Thiruvananthapuram: In the controversial diplomatic baggage gold smuggling case, accused Sarith’s lawyer Kesari Krishnan Nair has come out with a crucial revelation here on Friday. He revealed that Swapna, second accused in the case, had visited Sarith’s house before moving to the hideout in Bengaluru.
Following the raid of customs officials at Sarith’s residence, Swapna reached there and left to Bengaluru, reported the lawyer. Sarith was the first one among the accused to be nabbed in the case.
“After Sarith’s arrest, I visited his residence along with Swapna as she asked me to accompany her. Swapna’s daughter, son and husband also accompanied her to Sarith’s residence. When we reached there, we came to know that the house was raided by the customs. But nothing was recovered from the raid. Without entering the house, Swapna talked to Sarith’s parents. Sarith’s mother who was very emotional was seen hugging Swapna. She consoled the aged couple and said she will bring back their son home,” Adv. Kesari Krishnan Nair said.
Swapna along with her family visited Sarith’s house at Ambalamukku after coming to know about his arrest in the case. The lawyer added that Swapna took him in her car from Palayam.

He pointed out that the probe team recovered the details of this journey from the tower location of her mobile phone. From Ambalamukku, Swapna travelled to Pachalloor and after reaching Poojapura she switched off her phone.
