Stringent criticism is being raising on Kerala Loknath Behra on his alleged role in gold smggling case. KPCC president Mullappally Ramachandran alleged that Kerala police is suspected to have involvement in the case like the Chief Minister’s office.
He criticised that the police system in the state has fallen apart. He raised suspicion over the approach of Kerala police in the gold smuggling case.
“The home department is in a degenerated state. Police took a stance to help the accused in the gold smuggling case. Top officials in police have links with the frauds. The public is eagerly waiting to know whether the involvement of the high profile people will be investigated in the case,” said Mullappally.
He alleged that police helped the accused to leave Kerala and all these police officials are continuing in service with the support of Chief Minister.
“Police tried to sabotage the case against Swapna Suresh for filing a fake complaint against an Air India official. Police have identified Swapna’s involvement in the case. But due to the pressure from VIPs, Kerala police failed to take action against Swapna,” slammed Mullappally.
The gold smuggling case was registered against the accused after more evidence was recovered. DGP appointed the gunman for UAE consulate general by violating the norms, alleged the KPCC president.
He noted that the ministry of external affairs should deal with the matters like the security of diplomats. But the DGP appointed the gunman for UAE consulate general without seeking permission from the ministry of external affairs. He criticised that DGP has misused his powers.
“Chief Minister’s former principal secretary M Sivasankar was suspended for the same offence. Hence, DGP should be suspended for violating the norms and NIA should probe into his involvement in the gold smuggling case,” demanded Mullappally.
He stated that NIA, as well as customs, have been investigating on the links of the gunman with the gold smuggling case. He noted that the sudden disappearance of UAE attache comes under scanner as the probe is on progress.
“In the gold smuggling case, the involvement of a businessman who has close relationship with Chief Minister, other ministers and police officials also came to light,” added Mullappally.
