Kalyan Dombivli: Outer Mumbai’s biggest worry; COVID cases double in 1 month

Kalyan-Dombivli, one of Mumbai’s neigbourhood town, is yet again seeing a spike in COVID cases.

This month, the region saw a 36% rise in COVID cases as opposed to a 15% rise in August. In the month of September alone, the region recorded over 8,000 cases including over 760 deaths.

And this spike comes after the recently celebrated Ganesh Chaturthi festival where social distancing norms were flouted.

Kalyan-Dombivli is an important satellite town that houses Mumbai’s working crowd.

Currently, the region has 9673 active cases and over 31,000 recoveries.
