The Centre has said, there are inputs of Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh using some Madrasas in Burdwan and Murshidabad of West Bengal for radicalization and recruitment activities.
In a written reply in the Lok Sabha yesterday, Minister of State for Home Affairs G Kishan Reddy said, concern on the issue was shared with the West Bengal government and it has been asked to maintain law and order in the state.
The government had notified Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh and all its manifestations as a Terrorist Organization in May.
The Centre also expressed concern to the West Bengal government over the recent political violence in the state. Mr Reddy said information has been received about a number of incidents of violence before, during and after the general elections resulting in deaths and injuries to several people including political workers.
