J&K: Kishtwar Cloudburst | Relief and rescue operations continue

On 28 July 21, the Kishtwar area of Jammu and Kashmir was hit by a cloud burst. The IAF has deployed its helicopters for rescue and relief operations.

In spite of prevailing bad weather, on 29 July 21, three helicopters, one each from Jammu, Udhampur and Srinagar were utilized for airlifting SDRF/NDRF teams to Kishtwar.

Simultaneously, evacuation of critically injured people was carried out from Sondar to Kishtwar. The helicopters transferred a relief load of 2250 Kgs, 44 NRDF personnel, 4 medical assistants and recovered two stretcher patients from Sondar.

The IAF helicopters continue to be on standby for any further Disaster Relief tasks in the coming days.
