J&K: 1 civilian dead, 5 injured as Pak violates ceasefire along LoC

A civilian was killed and five others were injured as Pakistan violated ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said on Wednesday.

Pakistani troops opened fire along the LoC in Kupwara’s Machil sector, they said.

The Indian Army gave a befitting response to the Pakistani aggression that started on Tuesday night, officials said.

The injured have been admitted to a hospital, officials said.

Ceasefire violation comes after 5 non-Kashmiri labourers killed

Five non-local labourers were shot dead by terrorists in Kulgam on Tuesday evening. A person was critically injured in the attack and was admitted in hospital.

The labourers hailed from Murshidabad in West Bengal.

A massive search operation was underway and additional forces were called in.

Jammu and Kashmir DGP Dilbagh Singh told reporters that Pakistan was behind the attack.
