Home Minister Amit Shah has directed Delhi Police to take stringent action against the culprit behind the Jamia firing incident. Mr Shah spoke to Delhi Police Commissioner over it. In a tweet, Mr Shah said, the Central government will not tolerate any such act and serious action will be taken and the culprit will not be spared.
Earlier in the day, a man fired from a pistol at a group of protesters in Jamia Millia Islamia in the National Capital. One student was injured in the incident.
Meanwhile, the accused has been taken into custody and is being interrogated.
