Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett met with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow yesterday to discuss the Ukraine crisis. Israeli Prime Minister’s office confirmed the meeting at the Kremlin, which came just days after Mr. Bennett spoke over the phone with both Russia and Ukrainian leaders.
Israel, which is home to a substantial population of Russian immigrants, has offered to mediate in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Israeli officials have, however, played down expectations of a breakthrough.
Mr. Bennett was accompanied by Housing Minister Ze’ev Elkin, National Security Adviser Eyal Hulata and diplomatic adviser Shimrit Meir.
