IPL: Delhi Capitals defeat RR in super over

In IPL T20, Delhi Capitals defeated Rajasthan Royals in a thrilling super over at Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi last night. Put to bat first, Delhi Capitals made 188 for 5 in the stipulated 20 overs, with Abishek Porel’s 49 and KL Rahul’s 38. In response, Rajasthan Royals were initially looking in great touch as Yashasvi Jaiswal and Nitish Rana made half-centuries. However, Mitchel Starc produced a fabulous death bowling that restricted the visitors an identical score, leading to the first super over of this season. Shimron Hetmyer and Riyan Parag took charge for the Rajasthan Royals in the super over, but they had no answer to Starc’s stellar bowling as they managed to score only 11 runs with one ball to spare. In response, KL Rahul and Tristan Stubbs left no chance for the Rajasthan Royals and crossed the winning mark. Delhi Capitals pacer Mitchel Starc was declared Player of the Match.
