Delhi Capitals beat Kolkata Knight Riders by four wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Thursday night in a rain-affected clash and registered their first win of the season. Put into bat first, Kolkata Knight Riders posted 127 all out in stipulated 20 overs with the help of Jason Roy’s gritty knock of 43 runs and unbeaten 38 by Andre Russell. For Delhi Capitals, Ishant Sharma, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav and Anrich Nortje took two each while Mukesh Kumar scalped one wicket. Ishant Sharma was declared player of the Match.
Chasing the target, Delhi Capitals made 128 for the loss of six wickets in 19.2 overs. For Delhi Capitals, skipper David Warner with 57 runs was the highest scorer. For Kolkata Knight Riders, Varun Chakaravarthy, Anukul Roy and Nitish Rana took two wickets each. Earlier, Delhi Capitals won the toss and elected to field.
In another match, Punjab Kings defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by 24 runs at the Punjab Cricket Association Stadium, Mohali on Thursday. Put to bat first, Bangalore scored 174 for 4 in stipulated 20 overs.
In tomorrow’s fixture, Chennai Super Kings will take on Sunrisers Hyderabad at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai at 7:30 pm Indian Time.
