India’s cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage crosses 58 crore mark

In a significant achievement, India’s cumulative COVID-19 vaccination coverage has crossed 58 crore mark today. Union Health Ministry said, more than 45 crore vaccine doses were administered as first dose and over 13 crore vaccine doses given as second doses so far. The new phase of universalization of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from 21st of June this year.

The Ministry said, more than 43 lakh 92 thousand vaccine doses were administered today. Over 20 lakh 88 thousand vaccine doses were administered as first dose and more than seven lakh 36 thousand vaccine doses given as second dose in the age group 18 to 44 years today. Cumulatively, over 21 crore 60 lakh persons in the age group 18 to 44 years across 37 States and Union Territories have received their first dose and total more than one crore 92 lakh have received their second dose since the start of Phase-3 of the vaccination drive.
