The Indian Army Contingent has departed for the 17th Edition of Indo-US Joint Military Exercise Ex – Yudh Abhyas 2021 at a joint base elmendorf – Richardson, Alaska in USA. Defence Ministry said, as part of the ongoing Indo-US Defence Cooperation, the exercise will be conducted from 15th to 29th of this month. The contingent, comprising of 350 personnel of an Infantry Battalion Group has departed today. The Exercise is the largest running joint military training and defence cooperation endeavour between India and the USA.
The joint exercise is hosted alternately between both the countries. The previous version of this exercise was held at Mahajan Field Firing Ranges in Bikaner, Rajasthan in February this year. This is another step in the growing military cooperation between the two countries. It aims at enhancing the understanding, cooperation and inter-operability between the two Armies. The joint exercise will focus on Combined Arms Manoeuvres in cold climatic conditions and is primarily aimed at sharing the tactical level drills and learning best practices from each other.
