It’s a great start for Indian team in King’s Cup against Thailand as Anirudh Thapa scored a goal in the 17th minute to give a lead of 1-0 to India at half-time. Adil Khan, playing his first game in the national team pushed a lovely kick for a goal attempt, which was saved by defenders.
Thapa ran behind the Thailand defenders at the far corner and pushed the ball into the goal. The match has entered half-time and the game with continue with India’s 1-0 lead in the second half.
It was only five months ago that India, coached by Stephen Constantine, opened their AFC Asian Cup campaign with a stunning 4-1 win against Thailand.
Since then a lot has changed with Croatian Igor Stimac taking over as head coach as India crashed out of the Asian Cup in the group stages. In their King’s Cup knockout clash against Curacao, India lost 1-3 to lose their chance to play in the final. In the other tie, hosts Thailand lost to Vietnam 0-1.
