11th Battalion, the Jammu and Kashmir Rifles part of South Western Command represented Indian Army in this bilateral exercise. The US Army delegation was represented by troops of 2nd Battalion. The 3rd Infantry Regiment of 1-2 Stryker Brigade Combat Team of 7th Infantry Division, US Army. The aim of the exercise was to focus on Counter Terrorism Operations under United Nations Mandate. The training focused primarily on subject matter exchange of topical issues of contemporary significance, drills at tactical level and sharing of best practices of each other.
The joint training developed into an excellent professional forum which strengthened the capabilities of joint operations by both armies. The exercise was conducted in two phases. The first phase of combat conditioning, tactical training and interoperability was completed successfully by both the contingents. The training received by both the armies in the first phase was validated in the second phase. Both the contingents jointly took part in the validation exercise which included planning & execution of various counter terrorist operations over 52 hours.
The highlight of the exercise was the bonhomie & camaraderie displayed by the troops, thereby ensuring integration & achievement of interoperability at all levels.
