India dominates medals tally at South Asian Games in Nepal with 70 medals. These include 34 gold, 23 silver and 13 bronze. Indian athletes dominated in most of the competitions yesterday and clinched 28 medals including 17 gold, 7 silver and 4 bronze. Athletics contributed maximum 10 medals – 5 Gold, 3 silver and two bronze.
In shooting, Annu Raj, Gauri Sheoran and Neeraj Kaur won gold in 25 meter sports pistol team event. In individual competition of same event, Annu won gold while Gauri claimed silver.
In Tennis, India clinched men’s and women’s team title. Indian men defeated Pakistan while women beat Sri Lanka in the finals.
In Kho Kho, Indian men’s and women’s teams won gold each. In Triathlon, India won gold in 4 by 4 mixed relay.
In Taekwondo events, India clinched six medals, including 3 Gold. In Table Tennis, Indian paddlers bagged gold and silver in both the men’s and women’s doubles events.
In Badminton, 8 Indian shuttlers entered the semi-finals in singles and doubles events assuring themselves of as many medals. All the semi-final matches in badminton will be played today.
