India supplies fuel to Sri Lanka under Indian credit line

India has supplied fuel to Sri Lanka under Indian credit line to help ease crisis in the island country. The High Commission of India in Colombo in a tweet said that one consignment each of 36,000 metric tons of petrol and 40,000 metric tons of diesel reached the country last evening. The consignment is a part of the 500 million dollar oil line of credit extended by India to Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile, The United States yesterday advised its citizens against traveling to Srilanka amid the ongoing economic crisis.

The Island nation is battling a severe economic crisis with food and fuel scarcity affecting a large number of the people in the island nation .
