India says PM Modi did not ask US Prez Trump to mediate on Kashmir

New Delhi says, Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not ask US President Donald Trump to mediate on Kashmir.

External Affairs Ministry Spokesman Raveesh Kunar said, it has been India’s consistent position that all outstanding issues with Pakistan are discussed only bilaterally.

He said, any engagement with Pakistan would require an end to cross border terrorism.

The Spokesman added, the Shimla Agreement and the Lahore Declaration provide the basis to resolve all issues between India and Pakistan bilaterally.
