India negotiates trade deals on its own terms & will accept only when it is in national interest: Union Minister Piyush Goyal

Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal has said that India discusses trade deals on its own terms and never makes a trade deal based on a timeline. Talking to the media in New Delhi about the trade deal with the United States, the Minister said that a free trade agreement happens only when there is mutual benefit.

He added that the trade deal is only accepted by the country when it is fully matured and in the national interest. Mr Goyal also said that negotiations for agreements are underway with different countries including the United States, Europe and New Zealand.
