India have crossed the 100 gold medal mark at 13th South Asian Games in Nepal. On the seventh day of competitions yesterday, India further consolidated its top position and breached 200 mark in overall medal tally. India have so far clinched 214 medals comprising 110 gold, 69 silver and 35 bronze.
Indian swimmers continued their outstanding performance and cleaned sweep all seven events of the day. India clinched 7 gold, one silver and one bronze yesterday. Indian swimmers have brought a total 30 medals including 16 gold, 12 silver and 2 bronze in last three days.
Indian Wrestlers made brilliant start of their campaign by winning 8 gold four each in women’s and men’s section. Indian shooters clinched all three titles of the day. India won gold in 10 meter Air Rifle mixed category. In men’s 25 meter Rapid Fire Pistol, Indian shooters brought double delight by winning gold in individual and team events. India also bagged bronze in individual category of same event.
In Fencing, India clinched 2 gold, 2 silver and one bronze. In Cycling, India won 2 gold and one silver.In weightlifting India clinched two gold.
On the final day of athletics India won 9 medals yesterday. In men’s marathon Rashpal Singh won silver and Sher Singh got bronze. In women’s marathon Jyoti Gawate bagged bronze. In Javelin throw Shivpal Singh won silver in men’s section while Kumari Sharmila got bronze in women.
In men’s 800 meters sprint Mohammed Afsal clinched silver and Lily Das bronze in women’s category. In 4×400 meters relay Indian sprinters won silver in men’s and bronze in women’s section.
In Football, Indian women’s team has entered into the final. Defending champions, India defeated host Nepal by 1-0 in its third and last round robin stage game in Pokhara yesterday. Now both teams will again face other for a title clash tomorrow.
