India Meteorological Department IMD has issued a red alert for extremely heavy rainfall in Gujarat today. An orange alert has been issued for Saurashtra and Kutch regions, Eastern Rajasthan, Kerala, Mahe and Coastal Karnataka, where very heavy rainfall is expected today. Heavy rainfall is very likely at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Vidarbha, Konkan, Goa and Madhya Maharashtra today. Light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning is expected in Eastern and Northeastern parts of the country during next four days.
