Home Minister calls for changes in penal acts to strengthen internal security

Union Home Minister Amit Shah has called for major changes in penal acts to strengthen internal security.

Addressing the Valedictory Session of 47th All India Police Science Congress at Police Headquarters in Lucknow today, Mr Shah said, major changes in Criminal Procedure Code and Indian Penal Code, along with Arms Act and Narcotics Acts are need of the hour.

He called upon Police officers to participate in this process by giving their suggestions as well as seeking suggestions from junior personnel also who are going to implement these rules.

The Home Minister heaped praises for the Police Jawans and said that there should be a change of perception for common people regarding police force.
