Home Minister Amit Shah today paid homage to the martyrs of the Pulwama attack. On the second anniversary of Balakot air strikes, Mr Shah said under the leadership of Narendra Modi, the safety and security of the country and the soldiers is paramount. He said, that the Indian Air Force had again made clear the policies of New India against terrorism by responding to the Pulwama terror attack.
In 2019, during early hours of 26 February, air strikes were conducted on terrorist training facilities in Balakot of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. In this operation, a very large number of Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorists, trainers, senior commanders and groups of jihadis who were being trained for fidayeen action were eliminated. The air strike was conducted after the terror attack by a Pakistan based terrorist organization Jaish-e-Mohammed on a CRPF convoy in Pulwama on 14th of February last year in which 40 soldiers were martyred.
