Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Jammu and Kashmir on the 7th and 8th of this month to review the security situation and interact with security personnel. During his visit, Mr Shah will chair a high-level security review meeting to assess the current law and order scenario. Senior officials from the Police, Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), and intelligence agencies will attend the meeting. Discussions are expected to focus on counter-terrorism operations, cross-border infiltration attempts, and the overall security landscape in J&K. In addition to the review meeting, the Home Minister is also expected to visit forward areas along the International Border to inspect security arrangements and boost the morale of the forces stationed there. This visit comes against the backdrop of heightened efforts to combat terrorism and enhance border security.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah said that Mr Shah would also inaugurate various developmental projects during his visit to J&K, emphasizing that his trip is not solely focused on reviewing the security situation. Mr Abdullah said the Home Minister’s visit is not solely focused on security. While security will be reviewed, the primary focus will be on development projects in Srinagar, where several key initiatives will be inaugurated.
