Heavy rain disrupts normal life in Mumbai

Heavy rain disrupted normal life in Mumbai this morning as heavy downpour caused waterlogging at many places, such as Sion, Dadar-Hindmata and Santa Cruz, resulting in traffic jams. Local train services on Central, Western and Harbour were affected. 

Western railway service was affected as bamboo poles of some ongoing construction work fell down on Overhead wire near Marine lines station. 

Central and  Harbour line trains are also running late due to heavy rains. 

Morning trains between Mumbai and Pune were cancelled and some long distance train starting from Mumbai via Pune are being diverted from Igatpuri as a goods train derailed near Lonavala. 

Due to water logging in Palghar, trains in Mumbai- Valsad section were cancelled. Trees were uprooted at some places in Mumbai.
