Seef District, Bahrain – 23 September 2020
Four years ago, Hamza Kooheji started his BRAVE CF career in the first-ever show, which took place on September 23rd, in the Kingdom of Bahrain. Now, he’s set to return to action in his home country as he looks to lock in a title shot against reigning world champion Stephen Loman. In front of him, a young and hungry contender lies in wait. Aidan James has rapidly developed into one of the strongest prospects out of Europe, and the Welshman feels he can spoil the party away from home.
For Hamza, the opportunity to fight for the title is a long-time coming. Since BRAVE CF 1, he has fought 8 times, earning an amazing 6-2 record. He currently stands at three-straight wins, with the biggest one coming last year, as he was one of the main attractions of the historical BRAVE CF 29, in a sold-out Khalifa Sports City Arena.
Walking out side-by-side His Highness Shaikh Khaled bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the man who breathed fresh air into his career, Kooheji dominated and defeated dangerous grappling artist Nahuel Gandolfi. With a mix of much-improved striking and his trademark takedowns, Hamza was too much for his Argentinian foe and ended the fight in the third round with a tremendous TKO.
Even though BRAVE CF hasn’t confirmed Hamza will be next in line for a title shot should he go past Aidan, all signs point for a showdown between Bahrain’s finest and the dangerous champion Stephen Loman.
‘’The Pride of Bahrain’’ has been the driving force behind the professional development of MMA in the Kingdom as its biggest fighter, and is now ready to swim in international waters, having been forged by some of the best coaching in the world.
One of Bantamweight division’s best fighters, Hamza is not settling for anything less than the title soon. He feels ready to fight for the belt and is eager to bring the world title back to the Kingdom of Bahrain. One win, and he’ll be closer to that goal.
