Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to reply to the discussion on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address in the Rajya Sabha today. He will reply to the motion of thanks after the completion of Question Hour. The Upper House concluded the discussion on the motion of thanks last Friday. The discussion on the General Budget for 2021-22 will be taken up this week for which 10 hours have been allotted.
Minister of State for Home G. Kishan Reddy is scheduled to move – The Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization (Amendment) Bill, 2021 in the Rajya Sabha today. The bill will replace Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization (Amendment) Ordinance of 2021 which merged the Jammu and Kashmir cadre of the Indian Administrative Service, Indian Police Service, and Indian Forest Service with the Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram, and Union Territory cadre, also known as AGMUT cadre. The President had promulgated the ordinance last month to amend the J&K Reorganization Act, 2019. Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Hardeep Singh Puri is also scheduled to introduce the National Capital Territory of Delhi Laws (Special Provisions) Second (Amendment) Bill, 2021.
The Lok Sabha will resume discussion on the Motion of Thanks on the President’s address. Besides, the general discussion on Union Budget for 2021-2022 is also listed in the proceedings of the house.
