Govt renews MoU with Swiggy and Zomato as measure to take street vendors on e-commerce platforms

The Government has renewed the MoU with Swiggy and Zomato as a measure to take the street vendors on e-commerce platforms. In a written reply to Lok Sabha today, Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Kaushal Kishore said that approximately 9400 street food vendors have been onboarded on these e-commerce platforms. The Minister told that more than 50 lakh loans amounting to 6,399 crore rupees have been directly disbursed to the bank accounts of the beneficiaries under the PM SVANidhi Scheme.
